Oh, CSI: Hard Evidence, how you disappoint me. It always makes
me sad when a game that could have been awesome enlists with the Army
of Suck. This fourth installment of the CSI video game series (based on
the popular TV show) could have been a really good game, but it's not.
It is, instead, a painfully slow and dreary slog through a purgatory of
loading screens. Anyone who plays this game will literally spend more
time waiting for content to load than they will actually playing the
game.
Seriously, it's excruciating.

SEGA Rally Revo is a rally style arcade racer. "Rally" means
that there's a co-driver telling you about the turns and bumps that are
coming up. Arcade means that the handling runs the gamut from crazy to
ludicrous. The only way to win is to drift around the corners at
physics defying speeds.
As current gen racers go, it looks pretty nice and is fun to play with
solid frame rates running through exotic locales. But, there's only
four exotic locales with a few a different tracks each, all of which
you'll have memorized in pretty short order. As such, it would probably
do better as a "budget" title. It's hard to justify $60 for such a
short game.

In case you've been living in a box and aren't aware, the new Orange Box from
Valve is actually three games and two expansion packs in a single box.
The three games are Half Life 2, Team Fortress 2, and Portal. The
expansions are Episodes 1 and 2 for Half Life 2. While I just won't
play Team Fortress 2 (Not there's anything wrong with TF2 (I just don't do the whole online killfest thing. Not my bag, baby.), everything else in this box is awesome.
But awesome as it may be, the value proposition depends on your prior purchases.

Two Worlds is a new RPG on a system seriously lacking in them. For that reason alone, I am willing to overlook its many minor flaws. From a play-style perspective, the game that Two Worlds most closely resembles is Oblivion. But make no mistake, this is not an Oblivion clone; though very similar, the design philosophies between the games are clearly very different.

Project Gotham Racing 4 is the latest racing game from Bizarre
Creations. As racers go, it's pretty good with car handling being on
the arcadey side of realistic, but nowhere near simulation. It's got
some nice new features: dynamic weather, day & night, and
motorcycles. They've also tweaked the car line-up so that it's no
longer what amounts to a supercar showroom.
The thing about PGR that has always driven (hah, pun intended!) me nuts
is that, while I really enjoy the driving when the car, opponent and
track setup is just right, the rest of the time, I've found every PGR
title so far to be incredibly tedious. They must be doing something
right, though. I do seem to keep buying them.
Went to the local so-called Halo 3 launch party last night. It was at the local "Hastings" which is a book and games store. There were a couple of hundred people there, but it wasn't a party. It was a line. After waiting in line for an hour, I picked up the legendary box.
Stayed up 'til four in the morning playing. So. Very. Tired.
Halo 3 is really good game, but I'm not sure it lives up to the hype. We'll see.

Eternal Sonata is the most beautiful video game I've ever seen.
The screen shots just don't do it justice because part of the beauty is
in the subtle animations of the world. In addition to being beautiful,
it's fun. It's definitely my favorite Japanese RPG for the 360 yet.
But, even if beautiful and fun, it does have it's flaws.
Here are some screens from Eternal Sonata, the most beautiful game I've ever seen. These are all done, as usual, in SD which really doesn't do the game justice. But even in low rez, it's freaking gorgeous.
There's more after the jump, too.

Will I play it again: Yup |
Tetris Splash is the Xbox Live Arcade version of Tetris. As
Tetris games go, it's relatively bare-bones, but it does have
multiplayer. It's also got some sort of acheivement based aquarium
screen-saver, which you can buy fish for, if you're so inclined. At 800
points, it comes in at like $10 or so. So, if you like Tetris, buy it.
If you don't, don't. If you don't know what Tetris is, download the
demo.
I like Tetris. I bought it. I'm glad I did.

Because I'm an idiot with too much spending money, I picked up the Legendary edition of Halo 3 on launch night.
The "legendary" items are interesting, but not an extra $70 interesting. Oooh.
Some videos and a plastic Halo head. Whoop! The actual game is pretty
cool, but just like the game's subtitle says: it's "combat evolved".
It's an evolution, not a revolution. Yeah, like 100 other reviewers
didn't already say the same damn thing. Must be true, then!
